On the Snow wanted to capitalize on search optimization to capture interest of those who stumble on the site looking for snow reports and also build a brand that would be helpful and memorable to snow enthusiasts. The challenge for this redesign was to strike a balance between making it feel inviting for a family-friendly audience but also optimized for search and create a large amount of ad revenue and partnerships. The end product was a thoughtfully-designed, curated and optimized hub for snow reports, ski resorts, gear, news, deals, promotions and events.

Each resort had a sub-navigation structure to make it easy to find any kind of content so the user could keep browsing the site and then browse other resorts all in one place.

Retail partnerships

Partnerships that were also added value content for the site provided users a place to compare gear and prices.
