AllergyCast With allergy impact

Zyrtec wanted to help allergy sufferers beyond taking a pill so we created AllergyCast, an app and skill that provides the allergy forecast and helps users track their symptoms so they can figure out what’s making them sneeze.

As we set out to iterate and improve, we went beyond a simple tracking and forecast app and created Allergy Impact - the first real feel for the pollen count. It’s a great example of data driven creativity that helps allergy sufferers know how the day’s pollen will really make them feel. Allergy Impact draws on multiple sources of data like 10,000 weather stations, years of allergy search queries and social mentions. These variables are then pulled into the Allergy Impact equation and distributed live across 41,000 U.S. zip codes through an API and served in apps, skills and websites.

ACCESSIBLE ACROSS MULTIPLE PLATFORMS

As a way to help allergy sufferers prepare for the day, we made sure Allergy Impact existed in the places people are the most when they’re getting ready for the day, like an app on their mobile devices or skills on their audio platforms.

Intuitive EXPERIENCE DESIGN

A great user experience is essential to retain users so we made sure all device experiences were intuitive to use, beautifully designed and include some personality in how the allergy forecast was delivered. In the app, we included everything you would need from a weather app so a user only needed to go to one app to find all the information they need. While we can’t tell a user what they’re allergic to, the symptom tracking interface was created in a way that would make it easy to decode what might be causing someone’s allergies to act up based on the days they tracked their symptoms.
